LA DEHESA
The dehesa (meadows) is the habitat where we pamper and raise our cattle.
It extends over more than 2.5 million hectares located mainly in the southern area of Extremadura and the northwest of Andalusia.
It is a Mediterranean forest characterized by its climate and flora, formed mainly by holm oaks, cork oaks, and thickets of rockrose, broom, gorse and grasses, the basis of extensive feeding of livestock in the pasture, made up of herbaceous, leguminous species, grass…
Our farms, located in the south of Extremadura, have a density of trees between 30-50 holm oaks per hectare, which we use for the montanera, a period in which our pigs feed on the acorns provided by holm oaks, cork oaks and gall oaks.
